FORT WORTH: Developer Pattern Energy has brought the largest wind farm in the Canadian province of Manitoba into full commercial operation. San Francisco-based Pattern says the 138MW St Joseph project will produce enough energy for about 50,000 homes.
Prior to completion, Pattern and provincial utility Manitoba Hydro agreed a 27-year power-purchase agreement covering the C$355m ($370.1m) project.
Pattern invested C$95m of its own money in the wind farm, with the balance coming as a loan from Manitoba province.
