Once the intrafield cables are laid at the FORCE demonstration site, OpenHydro plans to raise, re-tune and possibly upgrade the unit before hooking it up to the facility's infrastructure for redeployment.
OpenHydro: first of the turbines to test the waters
The installation on 12 November 2009 of OpenHydro's one- megawatt (MW) tidal-energy device in the Bay of Fundy's Minas Passage was declared nothing less than "a great day in the history of Nova Scotia" by provincial energy minister Bill Estabrooks.
