BRISTOL: New Energy Technologies (NET) has entered a co-operative research and development deal with the US government's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to speed up commercialisation of its "see-through PV" SolarWindow. NREL researchers will collaborate on improving SolarWindow's efficiency and transparency; boost its electrical power output; optimise the application of the active layer coatings, which make it possible to generate electricity on glass surfaces; and increase the size of its active layer.
