London: The UK wave- and tidal-energy industry has met Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) officials to lobby for funding after the £42m ($67.7m) Marine Renewables Deployment Fund (MRDF)was withdrawn at the end of March without disbursing any funds. Trade group RenewableUK is asking the DECC to set aside £70m for marine renewables from its £200m Low Carbon Innovation Fund, arguing that the UK risks losing the global lead it has with the technology.
