Tessera has spent more than $20m on development and permitting work. It says the project's footprint was reduced by 30% from the original plan and "substantial mitigation measures" were incorporated after consultations with Native American tribes, including the Quechan.
Judge delays project to hear tribe's complaint
A federal judge is blocking the start of construction of the 709MW Imperial Valley project in California, ruling that there is merit to a Native American tribe's complaint that it was inadequately consulted and its cultural heritage may be irreparably harmed.
