US: Project developer Horizon has signed a five-year power-purchase agreement (PPA) with Constellation Energy Commodities Group forits 198MW Top Crop 2 wind farm in Illinois, according to Horizon's parent group, Portuguese giant EDP Renov á veis (EDPR). EDPR says it has closed more than 660MW of long-term PPAs this year, but has begun to scale back investment in the US, as it is increasingly difficult to do long-term deals at attractive prices.
