Hochtief is insisting its 50:50 joint venture with Beluga - known as Beluga-Hochtief Offshore - will not be affected by the shipping company's woes, and remains in "very good shape". Last October, the joint venture ordered a jack-up vessel from Polish shipyard Crist, designed to install offshore wind turbines in depths of up to 50 metres.. The vessel should be completed next year, according to Hochtief, and its first assignment will be installing 80 Areva turbines at the 400MW Global Tech 1 project in the German North Sea.
