Renewables cap

The build-up of renewables will be limited to a binding “expansion corridor” of 40-45% of the country’s electricity output by 2025, from roughly 25% now. For 2035, the range is set at 55-65%. Germany’s outgoing government had a renewables target of 35% for 2020, 50% for 2030 and 80% for 2050, which would have been a slightly faster build-up.
