Fort Worth: Governor Martin O'Malley has proposed amendments to an offshore wind development bill in a late push to gain passage in the Mary-land legislature before the 2011 session ends on 11 April. The centrepiece of the proposed Maryland Offshore Wind Energy Act would force utilities in the state to enter 25-year deals to buy 400-600MW of power at above-market prices from a wind farm planned 19km east of Ocean City in federal waters on the Outer Continental Shelf.
