A 2.3MW wind turbine at solar-cell manufacturer G24 Innovations' factory in Cardiff has allowed a UK renewables company to go zero-carbon for the first time. Cabinet Office Minister Oliver Letwin describes it as "a virtuous circle at the heart of the government's vision of a low-carbon economy".
Bob Hertzberg, the company's founder, says the city council allowed the turbine to be built after being impressed by a solar company wanting to "green" its own manufacturing.
