Rio de janeiro: Brazilian utility Eletrosul, a subsidiary of Eletrobras, is planning to put the construction of its first solar PV plant out to tender. The plant will cost an estimated R$10m ($6m), although its size has not been disclosed. Further details should be available by May, but German bank KfW is guaranteeing €2.8m ($3.9m) of the cost. .
Eletrosul, which is already building wind farms, has hired consultancy Lahmeyer International to create a project plan with technical specifications to guide construction.
