The UK government's electricity market reform (EMR) proposals lack detail and are unlikely to work for renewables developers, says Andrew Jamieson, chairman of RenewableUK.
"There is no real detail on the proposals for a contract for difference [CfD] mechanism," says Jamieson. "It talks about establishing a strike price between the generator and someone on the other side, but we don't know who that is, how long these contracts are for, or whether there will be a difference between contracts for nuclear generators and renewables companies."
