Bristol: The US Department of Energy (DOE) has opened its coffers on a $170m fund to spur on development of a range of advanced PV technologies. Four areas will be supported by the new money: improved efficiency and performance of solar cells, new installation - or balance-of-system - concepts, advancing solar-energy grid integration, and research into new materials and processes for PV technology.
