CSP ‘has big potential but is expensive’, says reports

Realising the potential of Concentrating Solar Power in Australia, compiled by the consultancy IT Power for the government-backed Australian Solar Institute (ASI), forecasts that 2GW of CSP could be built by 2020 and up to 15GW in the next couple of decades — or nearly a third of the country’s total generation capacity of 50GW.

By 2050, CSP could provide half of the country’s energy if deployed at remote locations.
