London: O ffshore wind developers are being asked to dig into their own pockets to help fill a funding gap at government advisory bodies that threatens to undermine the UK's ambition to have 33GW of offshore wind by 2020. Anne Savage, planning and consents manager for the Crown Estate, the body that owns the UK seabed, says agencies such as Natural England, the Countryside Council for Wales and Scottish Natural Heritage are having to lay off staff due to government spending cuts.
