Rio de Janeiro: Brazilian utility holding company CPFL has confirmed it will build 150MW of wind farm capacity from which it will sell energy on the unregulated market. The plans were first reported by Recharge in February. Wobben Windpower, a local subsidiary of Germany's Enercon, will supply turbines to the projects.

CPFL is also building wind farms with 188MW of capacity whose output was sold on to the regulated markets of the 2009 federal tender - and 30MW at the 2010 federal tender.
