Goldwind's 2.5MW direct-drive turbine is only available in China at present, but it will begin marketing it in the US and other foreign markets this year.
China's Goldwind to build US farm
Detroit China's Goldwind has won final approval for the 106.5MW Shady Oaks wind farm in Illinois, marking a significant victory for the Chinese wind industry as it digs for a foothold in the US. Goldwind submitted a joint bid with Dublin-based Mainstream Renewable Power (MRP), but it will immediately acquire the project outright. MRP will stay on in a "central role" until the wind farm is commissioned.
