Gradient Resources has tapped Benham Constructors to build a 60MW geothermal plant in northern Nevada. Benham, a unit of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), won the engineering, procurement and construction contract for a modular binary cycle plant at Gradient's Patua site.
Commercial operation is targeted for the third quarter of 2012, and the Sacramento Municipal Utility District has signed a 21-year power-purchase agreement for the project's output.
