Brisbane: The Australian Centre for Renewable Energy (Acre) is creating a funding programme of more than A$100m ($104m). It says the scheme will sweep up unallocated government funds and add them to the A$40m promised by the Labor Party in last year's national election campaign. In its Strategic Directions report, the government-sponsored centre says the programme "could potentially extend the funding envelope for emerging renewables to more than A$100m, of which at least A$40m would be available for developing technologies such as ocean and geothermal".
