NEA’s number, released after the agency’s annual conference, is ambitious, given that many analysts were predicting around 16-17GW of new capacity for this year and equipment makers had generally forecast even less.
NEA itself followed up on its target with news this week that the sector had only added 15.4GW of new capacity during 2012, down 4% on the previous year.
