FORT WORTH: American Superconductor (AMSC) may need to raise capital to complete its acquisition of The Switch Engineering, after Sinovel Wind Group, its largest customer, refused to accept contracted shipments. "AMSC suddenly has a very stressed balance sheet and it would likely need to raise about $100m-200m to get the deal done and maintain a comfortable cushion," says Citigroup analyst Timothy Arcuri.
