Aegir Wave Power, a joint venture between Swedish utility Vattenfall and Scottish technology developer Pelamis, has been awarded a lease to develop a commercial-scale wave farm off the Shetland Islands.
The award by the UK Crown Estate will make it possible for Aegir to move forward with survey and evaluation work, in order to secure consents and permissions for development from Marine Scotland.
