At 182MW, Rudong is Asia’s largest offshore wind project.
It sits in a quiet spot at the mouth of the Yangtze River, a few hours’ drive north of Shanghai, in a county better known for its aquaculture than a high-tech industry.
Yet the project hosts equipment from virtually all of China’s top turbine manufacturers — Goldwind, Ming Yang, Shanghai Electric, Sinovel, CSIC, United Power, Sany and Dongfang Electric.
