If the deal is finalised, the early-stage projects – two each in Chile and Peru – will be developed jointly by the two companies.
EDC will help fund the development costs and pay Hot Rock $2.6m for its stake in the joint venture.
A further $1.4m is payable by the Philippines group if several outstanding regulatory approvals are granted by the Peruvian government.
