The partnership will focus on developing an existing geothermal resource of the Sokoria 30MW project located on the Island of Flores.
The Sokoria geothermal field is already well-explored with three completed exploration wells. A bottom hole temperature of 188°C has been measured at a depth of 532 metres.
The Sokoria region has a geothermal resource potential in excess of 100MW.
The joint venture also seeks to directly supply about 25MW of baseload geothermal power from existing resources to Indonesian firm Dairi Prima’s planned underground mine in northern Sumatra.
