Nevada Geothermal Power opted for a lump sum payment rather than tax credits, which is due by Monday.
Part of the funding will be used to drill three wells at the Blue Mountain 'Faulkner 1' site, which is currently producing power at a sustainable rate of 27 megawatts.
Plant output is limited by deep injection capacity. The additional deep wells will bring the plant up to full production capacity of greater than 40MW.
