Icon Energy to explore geothermal sites in Queensland

Stephen Robertson, Queenland’s minister for natural resources, mines and energy, will grant the geothermal exploration permits EPG 49 and EPG 51 to Icon Energy.

The geothermal area consists of NappaMerri 1 and NappaMerri 2 and they are located on the eastern side of Queensland and South Australian border.

The country’s only geothermal plant at Birdsville is also located on the eastern side of the two states’ borders.
