The plant would consist of two 3km-4km-deep boreholes - one injection and one production well. Water would be circulated between the bottoms of the two wells, to be heated by the hot rocks, and then return to the surface at about 150C, where it would drive a turbine. Hot water from the wells could also be used for heating and other purposes.
