Iceland’s Geysir Green Energy/Enex Kina and China’s giant oil firm Sinopec Star Petroleum have formed a new joint venture firm to engage in massive developments and utilisations of geothermal in Shaanxi Province, Hebei Province, Beijing, Tianjin and some other places in northeast China.
“The timeline would be to build up 20 million square metres of heating coverage in the next three years and further expand to 30-40 million square metres in the next five years,” says Jiang Zhu, director of Chinese operations for Geysir.
