The Vertiwind, which it is developing with Nénuphar, Converteam and EDF Energies Nouvelles, will be tailored to suit Mediterranean, European and US waters.
The 2MW turbine will feature a 50-metre-diameter rotor outfitted with three vertical 70-metre blades. Its base will be a semisubmersible structure designed for mooring in water depths greater than 30 metres.
Technip will design the floater, mooring system, dynamic electrical connection cable and turbine integration, as well as being responsible for installation.
