The acquisition is part of a wider deal which involved Acciona selling its 25.01% stake in Endesa to Italy’s Enel for a final price of €9.63 bn, and buying the renewables assets for €2.63 bn.
Endesa’s renewables assets will give Acciona another 1,947 MW in installed capacity, including 1,095 MW in wind power and 851 MW in hydro power. The transfer of a further 133 MW, which is still in development, will take place in the future.
