The machines at EDF Energies Nouvelles' 96MW Ensemble Eolien Catalan — 26 V90-3.0s and nine V80-2.0s — will have composite blades and rotors fabricated with proprietary "additives" in the material mix, and towers treated with special coatings. The combination has been shown to change the way a turbine is "seen" on a radar screen.
