Riverstone is already a significantinvestor in global renewables – as well as in fossil-based ventures such asCuadrilla, the company searching for shale gas in the UK.
The new fund – which willinclude former BP CEO John Browne on its board – will look for investmentsacross the sectors, reports the Financial Times.
Lord Browne is a partner atRiverstone, which has positions in renewables including a stake in US-based winddeveloper Pattern Energy and – until it was bought by Japanese investors lastyear – the offshore wind installer Seajacks.
