In its main “framework scenario” for grid extension plans, based on a likely development of electricity generation capacities, the agency now expects onshore wind installations to grow to 55GW by 2024, up from 31GW last year.
Previously, the agency had forecast onshore wind to expand to 49.3GW by 2024. By 2034, the agency expects that 72GW of onshore wind will be installed across Germany.
