Stafford-based Alstom - the local arm of the French giant - and Aberdeen's Petrofac are providing the onshore and offshore substations and onshore cabling for the project off eastern England. Around 300 UK jobs have been secured by the multi-million-pound deal, says RWE.
Alstom and Petrofac will begin detailed design of the electrical system and the ordering of some major electrical components, such as transformers, static VAR compensators and offshore switchgear.
