Ouarzazate 1 is slated to start production at the end of 2015, and will be built by a consortium led by Saudi Arabia’s ACWA.

The Moroccan agency for solar energy, or MASEN, in a second phase also plans to build a 100MW solar tower and a 200MW parabolic trough plant at Quarzazate, the German bank said.

KfW is providing €115m ($151m) of the plant’s total financing of €700m, the bank said.
