The fund acquires projects directly from developers, and currently owns nine sites in the UK, totalling 185MW, including 37MW Kencot Hill, recently acquired from German utility RWE.
"Projects like Kencot Hill are perfect for the fund's investments because it allows us to deploy capital in large-scale assets while at the same time offerings diversification to investors," says director Ricardo Pineiro.
However, as of March next year, Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs) will no longer apply to PV projects larger than 5MW, and developers will have to apply for support under the new contract for difference (CfD) regime.
