GSF – which is 88% owned by Suntech – had already seen 37 of its operational PV assets in Italy seized by authorities. The latest seizures, of another 10 arrays, bring the total to nearly 38MW, or more than one-quarter of GSF’s total capacity.
The plants are under investigation for having allegedly cut corners – including failing to secure all necessary permits and falsifying completion dates – in order to play Italy’s formerly generous feed-in tariff system.
