Gehrlicher's main offices in Munich and Coburg both played a recorded message, as local media in Germany reported that it had started insolvency proceedings with a court in Munich on Friday and an administrator had been appointed.
No statement has been issued by the company concerning the reports.
Gehrlicher recently won a five-year “schedule contract” with the US government’s General Services Administration (GSA) that potentially could have unlocked a series of further orders in the US.
Gehrlicher, among the world’s leading solar EPC players, launched a US subsidiary just two years ago, with offices in Tempe, Arizona, and Boston, Massachusetts.
