The $180 million project, located 60 kilometres from the city of Copiap in the Atacama region, can generate more than 260GWh of electricity per year.
Carrera Pinto is already connected to Chiles central grid Sistema Interconectado Central (SIC), EGP says.
The company operates another 76MW worth of projects in the Atacama region.
