The average price was 0,9% below the R$184/MWh ceiling. The capacity contracted represented 7% of the total 8.3GW cleared to bid by Brazil's federal energy planning authority (EPE).

Comapnies that won contracts include industrial group Votorantim (seven projects with 209.6MW of capacity); Tractebel, the Brazilian unit of GDF Suez (five projects with 119.2Mw capacity); and local developer Delta 3, controlled by Omega Energia (seven projects with 210MW).
