Range Fuel bankroll construction of an advanced commercial cellulosic ethanol plant near Soperton, Georgia.

The plant, which will have the capacity to produce 100 million gallons of the fuel per year, will use woodchips as fuel stock. Construction of the plant is underway, and the ethanol distillery should begin production in 2010.

The USDA’s Bio-refinery Assistance Program provides loan guarantees for the development, construction and retrofitting of commercial-scale bio-refineries that produce advanced biofuels.
