BioFields is looking for financing options, and it is working on lowering production costs to make commercial production viable. Going from the lab to large-scale production is complex, and includes addressing regulatory issues.
The first phase will include the production of nearly one billion litres of ethanol per year, although a start date for construction has not been set.
US and Mexican markets are being targeted, and land has been purchased in Puerto Liberdad, Sonora, in northern Mexico, near the California and New Mexico borders.
