Peru blending mandates hanging in the balance
The Peruvian government is considering postponing biofuels blending mandates indefinitely and turning back to fossil fuels. Officials tell Recharge that the two nascent domestic sectors — ethanol from sugar cane and biodiesel from African palm oil — are not up to the challenge of supplying local demand.
