The Calgary-based company plans to have the facility running at full capacity by the third quarter of this year. "We were very fortunate to find a facility of this type in the right geographic area of the world that provides everything we need to manufacture and ship our product,'' says Bill Jacobson, chief executive of NFI. "The plant is also large enough that it will allow for expansion.''

Richard A Kessler Canada's Natural Fuels Industries (NFI) has signed a letter of intent to purchase a plant in Thailand and retrofit it to produce up to 500,000 tonnes of biomass-fuel pellets. NFI says the plant is located in the deep-sea port of Map Ta Phut, and includes ample space for loading and unloading raw materials and finished product.
