Europe will consume about 20m tonnes a year of renewable biodiesel by 2020 due to stricter regulations driving up demand for the ‘greener’ product, says Matti Lievonen, president and chief executive officer for Neste, a leading producer of biodiesel.
“Globally we’re currently seeing about 10m tonnes (a year) of demand for renewable biodiesel,” Lievonen tells Recharge.
“Renewable energy will also very much be in demand in Asia.
