Recharge has discovered that 315 wind farms are already registered, but despite this, the wind industry had been requesting additional time for developers to prepare proposals. Local news reports say Petrobras also lobbied for an extension as it seeks to determine gas rates.
This will be the first time in two years that natural gas plants will be permitted to participate in the A-3 tender, alongside wind, biomass and small hydro plants.
