“The Department is committed to developing cost-effective and sustainable advanced biofuels,” says Cathy Zoi, assistant secretary for energy efficiency and renewable energy. “With this investment, we will vastly increase the capacity to test new innovative approaches on a larger, integrated scale.”
The Advanced Biofuels Process Development Unit (PDU) facility will be funded with nearly $18m from the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
