Customs officials provisionally seized the shipment, which was labelled as coming from Quebec, Canada, last month, after a tip-off from the European Biodiesel Board (EBB) that it had originated in the US.
Now a judge has ruled that customs was justified in impounding the consignment.
Last May, the European Commission imposed punitive duties on imported US biodiesel in response to what it calls unfair American subsidies.
