Under the accord, the companies will evaluate feedstocks in China for production of green diesel and jet fuels, and assess opportunities for raising energy efficiency of existing and new ethanol plants in China.
CNPC will also evaluate possible installation of a demonstration-scale process unit for green diesel fuel production using process technology developed by UOP and Italy’s ENI called Ecofining.
If this occurs and is successful, CNPC would consider a larger-scale unit at an existing or new CNPC refinery site, according to UOP.
